GoDaddy wins pair of phishing, password-stealing domain names in UDRP

Yet another domain stolen from a GoDaddy account.

Don’t mess with GoDaddy.

GoDaddy filed and won a UDRP for two domain names that were used as part of an elaborate email phishing scheme.

As we pointed out in December of 2014, several domain names bearing the “GoDaddy” keyword and trademark, were registered at eNom.

Their Chinese registrant used them in email phishing campaigns, in order to fool unsuspected visitors that clicked on the links; the next step is typically the hijacking of GoDaddy accounts.

The UDRP that was filed at the WIPO for the domains service-godaddy.com and services-godaddy.com was naturally decided on behalf of the Complainant.

The Respondent, a Wu Yanmei of Shaoguan, Guangdong, People’s Republic of China failed to produce a response.

Hopefully, this case’s findings was also forwarded to the US authorities, and the FBI.
