Alarming censorship in India: ISP blocks 25 million blogs

India is blocking various web sites.

Tata Photon, an Internet Service Provider in India, blocked the entire WordPress.com realm, effectively shutting down access to 25 million blogs hosted on the popular CMS.

The Indian ISP claims it was following orders of the Indian government to block access to allegedly offensive content.

Freedom of speech is an unknown species in the second most populous nation in the world, that often addresses political and social issues by utilizing a complete blanking out of information.

Meanwhile, a list of 300+ web sites from India and around the world that were blocked by Indian ISPs on behalf of the Indian government, was partially leaked. Some of the blocked web sites include YouTube, Al Jazeera, WordPress and even Twitter and Facebook:
