ALERT: Multi-million dollar business domain ShadesDaddy.com has been stolen!

ShadesDaddy.com is the domain of a multi-million dollar online business, retailing sunglasses since 2008.

The Miami company’s domain name was registered with eNom; on Februrary 3rd, 2015 the domain was hijacked away, and was moved to the Chinese domain registrar, Ename.

Mr. Pablo Palatnik, owner of ShadesDaddy, alerted us to the domain theft of ShadesDaddy.com; he is currently in the process of reclaiming the domain using all available channels, including filing a lawsuit in court.

The theft of ShadesDaddy.com is particularly important, as its owner is sustaining a substantial financial loss; every minute, hour and day that his company’s web site is down, Mr. Palatnik is losing thousands of dollars.

Mr. Palatnik conveyed his frustration about the slow-moving process to reclaim the stolen domain, despite providing ample proof of ownership and operation of his business. The company also owns a registered trademark for ‘ShadesDaddy.’

“An American company and American jobs are at stake here and everything seems to be moving way too slow for the severity of this issue,” said Mr. Palatnik.

ShadesDaddy generates millions of dollars of revenue annually, and a lot of money has been invested in promoting the brand and business as well. The ShadesDaddy Facebook page has thousands of likes as well; many customers are complaining about this unexpected downtime.

The domain ShadesDaddy.com was unlawfully transferred out of eNom, and was moved to Ename.com in China. The latter, is a registrar of choice for Chinese domain thieves that steal domain names and attempt to resell them.

Valuable, high traffic domains such as ShadesDaddy.com can fetch a lot of money on the thriving Chinese domain aftermarket, and Ename offers a domain sales venue as well as being a registrar.

If you are approached to buy the domain ShadesDaddy.com, keep in mind that it is currently stolen and not for sale.

Currently, the WHOIS info of the domain is obfuscated, using privacy, provided by its registrar, Ename:
