Altamonte Springs renames itself ‘Microsoft, Florida’

Welcome to the city of Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Not willing to fall behind in terms of creative and marketing promotions, Microsoft has offered $2.5 million dollars to the city of Altamonte Springs, Florida to rebrand itself as “Microsoft, Florida“.

Only recently, Google apparently offered the city of Topeka, Kansas the opportunity to invest in technological infrastructure, including an ultra fast Internet network.

The price?

The city of Google, Kansas will remain live on the map – and Google Earth – until the end of March.

“We thought that Google’s idea could not be any better than ours. Both Microsoft and Google envision a closer control of the world, through our services, operating systems and browsers. What’s easier than to actually control the cities that people actually live in?”, said Maria diBartolomo, chief marketing assistant for Microsoft.

The cash fund of $2.5 million dollars will restore a much-needed budgetary aid to the city of Altamonte Springs, that has been known for employing sneaky traffic control ticketing, with policemen hiding in the bushes with laser speedometers. In the month of February, the city of Altamonte Springs has collected $45,221 from citations in traffic violations.

“We are proud of the efficiency of our police force and part of the $2.5 million dollars that will be given to the city by Microsoft will go towards the 4th of July celebrations and the police force”, said Tim Dicks, assistant to the mayor.

The city of Microsoft Florida will begin changing the city signs as early as next week, once the funds arrive from Microsoft Corporation.
