Yesterday, popular journalist Anderson Cooper announced that he’s gay.
While this might shock some, these days it’s non-news when popular people in the arts and media announce their sexual preferences.
The fact that Anderson Cooper is gay does not change our appreciation of the charismatic reporter and talk show presenter.
However, someone went ahead and registered AndersonCooperIsGay.com today and is pointing it to AndersonCooper.com
While the domain’s WHOIS is shielded – according to top WHOIS tool, Domaintools – several other web sites hosted on the same IP include political and personal blogs, along with corporate and promotional web sites.
Is someone trying to capitalize on “Anderson Cooper is gay” searches?

I’m not sure why people care about this stuff; the celebrity culture is so shallow, and, quite frankly, boring.
Anderson Cooper’s sexuality is of no concern to those who do not know him personally.
I can understand why one might come out to friends and family, but the rest of us do not *need* to know any specific details about people we don’t know personally.
And registering domains related to a celebrity’s life is just begging for problems down the road.
Just my humble opinion.
