Chinese domain sales : Uncle Martian is a “great” new venture in China

Chinese domain market report.

Chinese domain market report.

China is the world’s 2nd largest economy, and yet its commerce practices aren’t up to par.

There’s still a lot to be done in order for the Chinese entrepreneurs to display compliance with international rules and the concept of “fair play.”

Such as, respect of existing trademarks and brands.

Just take a look at a new Chinese venture, Uncle Martian.

Uncle what?

Who cares about the ultra silly name, but check out the logo, a straight ripoff of Under Armour, a very popular American brand and clothing manufacturer.

Sure enough, some enterprising Chinese person snapped UncleMartian.com, and it’s not the company.

Domain sales in China are fluctuating like a yo-yo attached to a noodle. Up down, up down, up down.

Volume is expanding and contracting, and while we’re witnessing sales, the average price for commodity domains, the so-called “chips,” is down, down, down.

It was good while it lasted.

We keep track of .CN and .COM domains, as short as 1 character and up to 4 characters in length.
