Chinese Domainer ready to take on Candy.com

Duan Xiangwang from the Guangdong province in China is a serious Chinese domain entrepreneur, with more than 5,000 domains under his belt, according to DomainTools.

The Chinese domain market has been experiencing a very healthy increase recently, especially since the introduction of the Chinese domain marketplace, 4.cn

Duan Xiangwang managed to grab the absolute candy jewel, AmericanCandy.com at Namejet.

There are 22 provinces in China and Guangdong is one of them.

Our friend Frank Schilling was also a bidder in the auction but perhaps due to his recent return to blogging, didn’t raise his bid past the initial amount of $69 US dollars.

Meanwhile, Duan Xiangwang grabbed AmericanCandy.com for $644 – an absolute steal for this 12 year old domain gem.

So will Duan Xiangwang and his AmericanCandy.com take on Candy.com – the very domain that Rick Schwartz sold for $3 million bucks?

It’s interesting to note that the domain name ChineseCandy.com is owned by an American, so perhaps Duan Xiangwang is avenging his country as well.

Which is better, Candy.com or AmericanCandy.com ?
