Chinese Singles’ Day : New record as all 9N .com domains get registered!

Made in China - the triple x version.

Communist Capitalism – Made in China.

China’s Singles’ Day set new records, with $9 billion dollars in sales at mega-store Alibaba alone – and the day is only half-way through.

This consumerist display of “Communist Capitalism” is the Chinese version of Black Friday for the Western markets.

According to Alibaba, Chinese domain investors spent a lot of money on a variety of items:

  • Keyboards with special keys that repeat 8 letters per keypress, e.g. Q becomes QQQQQQQQ.
These keyboards have a “Chinese premium” mode that omits the “bad” Latin letters A,E,I,O,U,V.
  • Cellphones with a special typing mode that accepts lucky numbers only.
  • Gift cards to be redeemed for 8N and 9N domains – without 4.

With that in mind, all 9N .com domains have now been registered, after a tremendous domain registration push occurred around noon, Beijing time.

“Domain investor, buy number, block for luck and long life,” said Alibaba executive Jack Ta Ma De Gan.

“We have rule Internet, for China pride, sell all product cheap and Christmas get power,” added Jack Ta Ma De Gan.

It is yet unknown exactly which Chinese billionaire registered all these combinations.

After the successful elimination of all 9N.com domains during Singles’ Day in China, domain investors outside of China are now switching focus to 10N, 11N and 12N .com domains.

Surely, these will also be gone before the end of the year.
