Christian group upset by GoDaddy’s “Satanic numbers”

What appears to be an innocent billy goat is something evil and dark that cannot be spoken of.

GoDaddy sent out messages with a very unholy number.

The Church of Good Shepherd Martyrs, is a large non-denominational house of faith, located in mostly-Mormon Salt Lake City, Utah.

Not quite a megachurch, and yet counting several thousand members, the Church of Good Shepherd Martyrs delivers its religious messages both directly and via its web site.

Registered at GoDaddy, TheChurchOfGoodShepherdMartyrs.org is built on WordPress; the updates are handled by Tamisha Michelle LaBouf, wife of Pastor Ellis Clapton LaBouf.

“My nephew suggested that we enable this SMS thing that lets you log in once you entered the right numbers,” says Tamisha Michelle LaBouf, tapping away on the church laptop.

“And then trouble began, and good Lord almighty have I seen satan at work!”

Apparently, a glitch at GoDaddy’s system that sends out randomized six digit numbers via SMS, caused the seed randomizer to get stuck at a very particular, unholy number: 666.

“Getting those SMS like, 524666, 490666, 383666 etc. I was shocked that satan preyed on us like that!” exclaims Tamisha Michelle LaBouf, crossing herself. “GoDaddy should be ashamed for tormenting us like that, we pay our hosting bills on time!” she adds, visibly shaken.

GoDaddy was made aware of the issue last week, issuing an apology for the glitch and promising a quick solution. For more information, reference ticket #15248666.
