In what appears to be an intentional omission, a new post on Eweek covering the popularity of gTLDs completely shuns .XYZ from its Top 10 list.
Notorious for its robo-registrations via a Network Solutions mega-freebiethon, the .XYZ gTLD gets no love from Eweek.
The list of top gTLDs includes:
- Dot .Guru
- Dot .Berlin
- Dot . Photography
- Dot .Tips
- Dot .Today
- Dot .Email
- Dot .Technology
- Dot .Company
- Dot .Directory
- Dot .Clothing
While it’s clear that these are the results of Q1 per a report provided by Verisign and ICANN, there is no doubt that .XYZ would not be included without the hundreds of thousands of free domains.
To this date, more than 93% of .XYZ domains are registered at Network Solutions in a give-away campaign.
