Fabulous to raise prices for all German citizens

Popular domain registrar Fabulous.com announced today that they are raising their registration prices for a select group of registrants.

Effective July 1st, the .com/.net and .org Registries are set to raise their fees for registering domains, something that all registrars take into account.

However, effective immediately, Fabulous will be raising the fees for all registrants based in Germany, or German citizens living in Australia.

“Following the humiliating defeat of the Australian soccer team by the Germans, we can no longer offer any discounts to registrants from Germany, sorry!”, said Mike Robertson, emptying his sixth pint of beer. “I have been drinking Fosters all night long mate, to get over the 4 – 0 loss of Australia at the World Cup in South Africa. It’s just not right mate, so we will make the Germans pay for it. It was a brilliant idea so that we raise money for our soccer team and hire a better coach. Cheers!”

It is not yet known if Mike’s statement should be taken seriously due to the extreme amount of beer consumption involved. Both Aussies and Germans are known for their fondness of the golden beverage, which they consume in mass quantities at every given opportunity.

World Cup 2010 has taken over Internet traffic and most domainers – with the exception of Americans – are watching the games; domain registrations will drop substantially during the 30 days of the World Cup 2010.
