Fadi Chehadé pledges to run Egypt ‘fairly’ – just like ICANN

Fadi Chehade will rule Egypt "justly."

Fadi Chehade will rule Egypt “justly.”

Fadi Chehadé, the ICANN CEO, might have shocked many with his election as the interim president of Egypt, but not the thousands of domain investors and ICANN employees.

The Egyptian technocrat, is not only fluent in several languages, but also able to use twitter as well.

“It is my honor, to be able to tweet the strategic plans of ICANN in less than 140 characters #win #icann”

To many domain investors opposing the current rise of ICANN as the Fourth Reich, rolling out of thousands of new gTLDs is like Buzz Aldrin‘s walk on the moon: second, and forgotten.

However, the expected gold rush to acquire as many gTLD properties as possible, has created almost 1,000 approved gTLD applications so far, something that Fadi Chehadé will use during his temporary presidency in Egypt.

“The land of the pharaohs and pyramids, the country that invented beer and first provided loin cloths and suntan lotion to the slaves, deserves a second chance; in my dual role as ICANN president and Egypt’s ruler, I will serve my country in a fair and just manner,” said Fadi Chehadé.

Meanwhile, FadiChehade.com still remains in the hands of a Dutch domain investor, who points it to the ICANN CEO’s profile page.

Rumors that Frank Schilling will be soon applying to become Governor of the Cayman Islands, were not confirmed by Domain Name Sales.
