Kim Dotcom, the larger than life CEO of the company that managed now shut down file repository site, Megaupload, created a stir last year with the “Megaupload song“.
The German national used several celebrities, such as Kim Kardashian and Kanye West who appear in the videoclip alongside Kim Dotcom – whose real name is Kim Schmitz – to promote his company.
In 2002, a German court sentenced Kim Schmitz to 20 months probation and a 100,000 euro fine for insider trading.
In 2009, the Megaupload CEO reappeared in New Zealand, having moved there with his family and having legally changed his name to “Kim Dotcom.”
