Ferrero ready for .NUTELLA – Craving some gTLD sweetness?

Dot .NUTELLA coming your way soon.

Dot .NUTELLA coming your way soon.

Ferrero Rocher, the Italian makers of numerous chocolate desserts, including the world-renowned Nutella, are bringing sweet surprises by Christmas.

The Ferrero gTLD application for .NUTELLA isn’t surprising; Amazon did the same for .KINDLE and other products.

But it’s not a closed, defensive application, as Ferrero plans to start a worldwide campaign, to restore its name and brand to the top echelons of gourmet, affordable chocolate spread.

Not too long ago, Ferrero Rocher settled a class action lawsuit for Nutella, although there has been an appeal that stalled all activity since late 2012.

Now, Ferrero Rocher will ensure that .NUTELLA is void of any excess sweetness, sugar and palm oil; as a digital product, consumers will be able to register .NUTELLA domains soon.

“Imagine, personalizing your craze for Nutella in the most unique way,” said Ferrero Rocher spokesperson, Dana Droid.

“A .NUTELLA domain, is as unique, as the Nutella you smear on your body!” exclaimed Droid, referring to the extreme habit of some Nutella consumers that possess this not so rare food fetish.

The .NUTELLA domain names won’t go through any sunrise; managed by Donuts, Inc., the dot .NUTELLA gTLD will be rolled out as soon as it get final approval from ICANN; and that’s some sweet news indeed.
