Flippa, the domain and web site marketplace headquartered in Australia, has published its key statistics for the year 2012.

Here are the highlights:

413,000 bids on auctions in 2012 were placed and 29,022 websites and domains were sold since January — a increase of 3,000 sales over 2011! The total value of those sites and domains was over $22 million.

98,523 new users joined the ranks of Flippa’s buyers and sellers this year and 8,000 users were banned or suspended (good riddance!)

We also solved over 30,000 support tickets in 2012.

We had 3 million uniques for 2012, as opposed to last year’s 2.1 million uniques.

Some of our biggest sales this year include:

  •  an eCommerce furniture store, MadokaModern.com, for $85,000
  • French blogging platform Bloguez.com, for $190,000
  • MilitaryBases.com for $125,000
  • Two domains, Salinas.com and WeddingVows.com, for $60,000 each

Looking forward to hearing bigger news from Flippa in 2013! 😀
