Francois scores with DomainScore

Verisign enhanced its domain analysis API with two new tools.

A domain name currently owned by Francois – the French domainer entrepreneur behind Domaining.com – has received a lot of interest recently, potentially from no other than Verisign.

DomainScore.com – an obvious reference to the value or worth of domain names – is currently on sale at CAX.com which Francois operates.

The domain was registered in 2001.

Meanwhile, Verisign is using the term to describe part of its newly launched domain analysis tools, Verisign DomainScore and Verisign DomainCountDown.

The latter is a tool, currently in beta, described as follows:

VERISIGN® DomainCountdown™ is a new web application from Verisign that allows customers to evaluate domain names that are being released from the registry within the next five days and will be available for registration (i.e., after domain names have passed the Auto-renew Grace Period and Redemption Grace Period stages in the domain life cycle). Users can review things such as traffic statistics, specifics about the previous web site such as what it was used for and how long it was registered. It’s a great tool for prioritizing domain name investments.

Could this produce a sizable domain sale for Francois in the near future? 😀

More details about the Verisign tools can be found here.

You would think that a Verisign would strategise months ahead and try to acquire the domain before showing their hand…or did they (try to buy, that is)?
