GoDaddy : New logo, new brand, new trademark!

GoDaddy has been around for a gazillion years, and as the biggest domain registrar it’s been quite protective of its brand.

The GoDaddy.com story was recently shared by founder, Bob Parsons, who revealed the first domain registered at GoDaddy, way back in November 2000.

Recently, GoDaddy redesigned its web site and logo, dropping the familiar, handwritten font for a bolder look.

The font used across the board at GoDaddy.com and in the new GoDaddy logo, is called Boing, created by British font designer, Henrik Kubel.

There is a problem, however, with the use of a new font for the GoDaddy brand and its assorted materials.

GoDaddy has been a registered, stylized trademark for several years, but the change in the design requires now a new registration. That’s another reason why GoDaddy recently dropped the ® mark from its logo, substituting it with the instead.

GoDaddy has applied for a new, stylized trademark.

Looking up the GoDaddy presence at USPTO we’re seeing a trademark application for the new, modern design, filed on April 5, 2016.

GoDaddy is applying for “GoDaddy” with an “intent to use” clause, for a bunch of classes, ranging from domains, web sites and software, to hats and t-shirts.

So get ready for a full spectrum of GoDaddy paraphernalia and merchandise bearing the new, improved GoDaddy logo soon.
