Government censors at work: Mass filtration of XXX web sites in India

The government of India issued a mass filtration directive for numerous web sites that facilitate the exchange of pornography.

The Department of Telecom has instructed more than 150 Indian ISPs to re-route traffic to 39 web sites, some of which share non-pornographic content as well.

Adult pornography is not banned in India, but apparently, the Indian government knows what’s good for you. Those web sites that are being blocked operate outside of India.

The blocked web sites redirect to a government web site that displays the message “This website has been blocked until further notice either pursuant to court orders or on the directions issued by the Department of Telecommunications.”

In the past, the Indian government focused on the blocking of web sites with pornographic material operating from within India.

In 2011, Indian authorities confiscated Lund.in from popular domain investor, Adam Dicker. Lund means ‘penis‘ in the local language, and the Indian government got permanent hold of it ever since.

we got rid of the indians in america… but we trusted the british to get rid of the indians in india… bad choice. bad decision… i shit you not… i’ve run into indians that think that they’re just as good as regular people… i mean even the untouchables. and don’t even get me started on the pakastanis who have the highest percentage of visitors to porn sites in the world. (as always… i’m drunk) so my opinions may change if i sober up. (not likely to happen)
