Gruhn Guitars switches to the ultra generic domain, Guitars.com

Would you buy this guitar at BIN if Michael Castello owned it?

Guitar is a very popular instrument.

Gruhn guitars is apparently a destination of choice for guitar players and aficionados. The vintage instrument shop and place of interest located in Nashville, Tennessee opened its gates in 1970.

With the availability of domain names and the Internet, Gruhn Guitars opened its online gates from Gruhn.com, a domain they registered in 1995, according to DomainTools.

According to the Business Journals, the company has switched to the ultra generic name, Guitars.com – a domain that they acquired in the late 1990’s.

Since then, they did not use Guitars.com, making use of their brand instead; the offers for Guitars.com kept coming in. The company was redirecting the Guitars.com traffic, but now they decided to reverse the situation.

Visitors to Gruhn.com are now being sent to Guitars.com, the ultra generic that many guitar companies and manufacturers would love to own.

As a side note, Gruhn.Guitars is being parked by someone that bears no relation to the guitar company. Frank Schilling‘s Uniregistry made Dot .Guitars available to the world, earlier this year.

Many thanks to George Kirikos for the tip. Read the full article on Guitars.com right here.
