Hope for going Solo? Try Facebook instead of the dot com

Hope Solo - US goalkeeper - prefers Facebook.

Hope Solo, the venerable goalkeeper of womens’ Team USA isn’t only known for her good looks; she’s mighty springed in the game of soccer as well.

During the past few games, but especially since the US team eliminated Brazil at the penalties, Hope Solo is considered one of the most valuable players.

So what has she done to communicate with her numerous fans – a lot of which are probably hoping to meet her in person?

Until recently, HopeSolo.com held a web site of its own, according to cached data from Google. The Wayback machine takes us back to 2009 as the most recent entry and depending on your patience you might be able to see what it looked like.

Meanwhile, Hope Solo – or whoever manages her professionally – came up with a great solution: she points the domain name HopeSolo.com to her Facebook page.

An ingenious solution that allows her to communicate with her fans directly, post pictures and updates and also capture type in traffic.

And that’s a lot better than many domainers do 😀
