ICANN approves Egypt for the next domain conference

ICANN has been accused in the past for selecting “Club Med” type destinations for its domain conferences around the globe.

The domain organization with its multi-national panel is always looking for relaxing, exotic locations which are equally rewarding for its members and distant for the general public to seriously consider attending.

In the past, we wrote how Adrian Kinderis got scammed in Colombia but that’s nothing compared to the list of cities that ICANN has been proposing lately!

“Why not, our members will definitely get a kick out of selecting Cairo in Egypt for our immediate candidate in 2011”, said Matthias Broeme, PR manager for ICANN’s committee of fund research.

“We are talking about the oldest existing civilization on earth, not to mention, a great place to meet with common people in the streets”, he added.

The proposal was made last Friday at the ICANN HQ. Some of the ICANN members were concerned about selecting Egypt as the next conference location, due to the current instability in the country.

Matthias Broeme brushed those fears away with a statement:

“That’s nonsense, it’s a unique opportunity to book five star hotels in Cairo and Alexandria really cheap. Not to mention that it’s about time our committee members man up and grow some fuzz on their cojones – domaining is for manly men!”

Other future locations for ICANN meetings include Afghanistan, the South Pole and Picher, Oklahoma.
