Mashable, the technology publication with millions of monthly viewers, finally broke the news about gTLDs today.

In an article titled “First 100 Generic Internet Domains Include .Rich, .Sexy and .Ninja“, Mashable describes the availability of new top level domains as of this year.

“The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced that there are now 100 generic TLDs that have been “delegated,” one of the final steps before the domains can begin taking registrations. Among the new domains are .rich, .sexy, .ninja, .pink, .email, .buzz, .coffee and .domains. ICANN has posted the full list, along with the names of all the registrants.”

Mashable, one of the top 200 Internet destinations according to Alexa.com, provides news and reports on innovation related to technology and the Internet and has millions of readers.

The biggest challenge that the new gTLD registries will face, is informing billions of potential customers about their existence; this will require coordinated effort and intensive marketing.
