Osama bin Laden’s owned domains in danger of expiration

Osama bin Laden's extensive domain portfolio is now in danger of expiration.

It’s “Mission accomplished” for the 9 year quest to find and take down Osama bin Laden, but the ever-elusive 6ft 4″ former leader of Al Qaeda might have caused some domain registrars trouble as well.

In the 10 or so hard drives confiscated by the elite Navy Seals team that attacked the Osama bin Laden hiding quarters, there is crucial information about Al Qaeda domain names.

Mike Robertson of Domain Guardians says:

“It appears that all this vital info wasn’t secured with a Domain Legacy contract. Thus, premium domain names owned by Osama bin Laden cannot be retrieved now that he is officially dead. It’s really a shame, there are bound to be some real gems in there!”

Domain Guardians is a brand new domain service that caters to domainers who wish to pass control of their domain assets in times of unnatural death; when that happens, Domain Guardians will turn over access to the domain assets to the estate of the deceased domainer.

“The Osama bin Laden domains are most certainly going to expire, drop and be auctioned on Pool, Snapnames or NameJet”, says Mike Robertson. “If he had been proactive, he would have made a contract with us to secure these assets that are now in the hands of the CIA. Osama bin Laden’s 4 wives and 16 children aren’t going to receive anything from the sale of these assets. It’s devastating!”, adds Mike.

In the coming months we will find out whether Osama bin Laden had invested in any .tel domains, known for their efficiency in delivering encrypted data to smartphones through manipulation of DNS records, or if he possessed long tail domains such as AllahIsGreatAndAmericaIsTheSatan.com (this is just an example).
