Mavis Wanczyk, 53, is the winner of the largest single lottery jackpot ever in the United States.
Before taxes, the $758.7 million jackpot grand prize in Wednesday’s Power Ball is all hers; and for that luck and sudden shot to fame, someone registered the domain MavisWanczyk.com.
Not everyone registers their full name in advance, opting to go after Facebook or other social media accounts. But if they become famous, whether intentionally or not, many wish they had done so.
With an estimated $480 million paid in a lump sum (before taxes,) Mavis Wanczyk has no reason to continue working.
And perhaps, she’ll move to a nice, exotic place in a permanent vacation, with no need for anything related to the Internet, such as a domain name.
The registrant of the .com is clearly out of luck. 😀
