Registrar adds ‘kill switch’ to its domain options

If it making peanuts, kill it.

If it’s making peanuts, kill it.

Drones of fly-by-nightentrepreneurs‘ are entering the domaining community to dabble in domains, and many of those gold-rush cowboys are facing a sudden death.

“My uncle Joe told me I was looking into at least six to seven figures buying and selling domains on eBay, but he was wrong, I reckon!” said Georgia peanut farmer and part-time domainer, Little John “Good old boy” Tranton.

“I made about $27 bucks after taking into consideration the PayPal fees, so this ain’t no worth it, I make more money growing peanuts, har!” added Tranton.

Obsessed by media coverage of large domain sales performed by seasoned domainers, hundreds of clueless domainers take a leap of faith into domaining. Unfortunately, not many survive the cold winter of this bad economy.

One registrar comes to the rescue, with a revolutionary ‘kill switch‘ for domain names.

“We offer our customers the opportunity to reclaim part of their cost, if they flip the domain switch and terminate the domain within 7 days,” said Lisa Bonner of Kill Switch Ventures, a new ICANN accredited registrar in De Moines.

“With the kill switch, customers that registered domains that aren’t making money can at least get back a buck or two, minus our commission and the ICANN fee,” added Bonner.

Not all is lost for domain flippers, it seems; the service offered by Kill Switch Ventures appears to be the perfect ‘domain suicide’ for domainers that are having a hard time with their unplanned decisions.
