Rick Schwartz files Lawsuit over $10 Million breach of contract

Wikipedia: Rick Schwartz, film producer.

When you share the same name with the Domain King, strange things might happen.

Sharing the same name with the prolific domainer, seller of Men.com, iReport.com and Candy.com might pose a problem if you are famous yourself.

Rick Schwartz, an independent producer and a former senior vice president of production at Miramax Films holds or shares executive producer credits for Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, The Human Stain, The Others, and Birthday Girl.

According to the NY Daily News, Rick Schwartz – producer of the critically acclaimed film “Black Swan” is suing the ex-president of Overnight LLC claiming he bailed out just as the film was being made, stole a top director and left it saddled with debt.

The NY Daily News article continues:

The resulting mess cost Overnight LLC “millions of dollars in lost revenues, lost opportunities, loss reputation and other losses,” according to the $10 million breach of contract suit filed Thursday in Manhattan Federal Court.

It’s definitely strange to read the name “Rick Schwartz” in movie related news without any pigeonsh*t references. And that’s because our very own Rick has nothing to do with it. 😀

  1. Kinesis says:

He also has a Bobblehead figure made after him. He’s the king, no question about that…

  2. Lucius "Guns" Fabrice says:

Kinesis – Surely some mistake. There is no Bobblehead figure made after Rick Schwartz the film producer 😀
