Ryan Gosling no longer a HasTraffic draft; David Seelos gets hired instead

Twins: David Seelos & Ryan Gosling

HasTraffic, the company founded by domain entrepreneur, Yancy Naughton, has given up on trying to hire actor Ryan Gosling.

Instead, David Seelos of Igloo.com fame joins the HasTraffic team in Los Angeles.

“I’d love to have Ryan on our team, but he’s too expensive, and I had to settle for his doppelganger, equally famous David Seelos,” said Yancy Naughton.

Hollywood stars can be a pain in the behind, often asking for perks such as daily pedicures or exotic food; David Seelos is an easy-going guy, who knows how to have a good time, whilst delivering excellent results.

“I’m looking forward to working with David,” said Yancy Naughton, adding: “I’m not sure how to break the news to Ryan Gosling’s manager, I think he’ll be upset!”

But seriously, the real press release follows:

In the midst of a rapidly shifting and changing domain and traffic industry, HasTraffic is proud to announce  their latest team member.

After over 5 years in the Domain Brokerage industry with Igloo.com and DomainAdvisors, David Seelos has accepted a new role with Yancy’s Naughton’s HasTraffic family of brands.

The brands represented include HasTraffic (publishing) WantsTraffic (Multi Channel Advertising) HasSocial (Social Media Influencer Network)  Namerific (Domain Name/ Brand Marketplace) and The CPC Email Exchange (Email Click Exchange).

David, who has enjoyed the excitement of the domain industry for most of his professional life, says “I look forward to continuing the relationships I’ve made in this industry, while trying something completely new as I jump into a role centered around traffic monetization.

I recently moved back to Los Angeles, and it’s great being at Yancy’s LA office with his awesome team.”

Yancy Naughton adds “David was always one of my favorite people in the domaining industry. I am certain that in addition to his domain brokerage experience, his abundant charm, talent and energy will pay dividends in his new position.

When I heard he was interested in broadening his skill set and moving to Los Angeles, we did not hesitate to tender him an offer. So far I can confidently say that he is a quick learner, and is transitioning quickly towards a more diverse role in traffic management operations and advertiser development.

David attended his first conference this week in Berlin (Domaining Europe) and I could not be happier with David so far. ”

Congratulations to HasTraffic and David Seelos for this great new beginning, and our best wishes for lots of success in the future.

  1. David Seelos says:

Thank you! This is great. And hilarious.

  2. Braden Pollock says:

Yancy and I spoke about this at great length prior to his offer to hire Mr. Seelos. Ultimately Yancy felt that while Ryan had a higher profile he might also attract “that Hollywood element”, which would just prove to be an annoyance. On the other hand, Mr. Seelos brought a much more targeted skillset and was a far better fit.
My understanding is that Mr. Seelos has extended an offer for Ryan to work as his personal assistant and protege. Ryan has not yet accepted nor provided a counter-offer. Mr. Seelos is cautiously optimistic.

  3. You are right about the Hollywood stars being a pain in the behind, but I would not exactly call Dave ‘low maintenance’ either. 😉 Braden, we were trying for Eva Mendez now for Mr Seelos’ PA, but Ryan objected, fearing his wife being around a younger looking version of him for so many hours of the day. I can’t help but think Ryan just feels threatened by David. Damned Hollywood types. 😉
