San Escobar .com : Domain of fictitious Latin American country got registered

San Escobar has a flag.

Where in the world is “San Escobar” ?

Don’t go looking for it on a real map, because the supposed Latin American country does not exist; only in a gaffe statement made by the Polish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Witold Waszczykowski, which turned viral.

Subsequently, someone registered the domain SanEscobar.com and there is a full “community” of San Escobar citizens now on Facebook, where San Escobar’s culture and life is unfolding.

We aren’t sure what the ccTLD for San Escobar domains would be.

The ISO 3166 list can be perused here.

It’s all done in good humor, of course, the same way that we’ve covered Domainistan in the past. 😀 The domain nation for all domainers, somewhere – but really, nowhere – off the Dubai coast.

The San Escobar fans did a great job creating a fictitious map of the country, injecting some tongue-in-cheek stereotypes about Latin culture – check out the PDF of it below.

Vamos a la San Escobar, amigos! 😀
