The current news about how colleges and universities rush to register their name in the .XXX TLD hasn’t phased the officials of a small university in Texas.
Skrotum University, a community college in the outskirts of Dallas, has been around since 1930 – in the years of the Great Depression.
Nick Chuck Papagalo, Skrotum University dean, explains why the launch of the .XXX TLD isn’t of any concern to the board of directors, or himself.
“We’re proud to have been around for the past 80-plus years. Our students and alumni are professionals in the specialized medicine arena”, says dean Papagalo.
“Our courses, classes and degrees focus on the anatomy of the male genitalia and its conditions and treatments. What would a .XXX registration do that we don’t already do?”, asks Papagalo, looking very alert despite his 75 years.
The specialization of the Skrotum University in the male genital physiology, is unique among all American colleges; there is also no other with a specialty in the female anatomy.
Dean Nick Papagalo adds:
“We could pay $100 every year for Skrotum.xxx to re-affirm that we are professionals with hands-on experience in the field but honestly, whoever would register that domain – other than us, that is – would be honoring our tradition and achievements in the field. So we’ll pass and spend the $100 towards a Holiday raffle.”
Apparently, Skrotum University will stay its ground and will refrain from any defensive registrations of its name. After all, Skrotum University prides itself for the fact that it has no online presence whatsoever.
