Some great news today from the Microsoft stables; Skype, the popular audiovisual conference software, is now free for group calls.
Group calls over Skype were previously restricted to users with a Skype Premium account, at a cost of $9.99 per month.
Now, Skype Group Calling is 100% free for users of the software on Windows desktop, Mac and Xbox One.
The definition of group calling over Skype is a conference between 3 to 10 people, depending on the device, and Microsoft recommends a limit of 5 for the best quality.
Desktop sharing during a Skype Group Call is also free, which is a huge plus.
