GoDaddy has quietly ‘undone’ the non-disclosure of domain auction data, re-enabling all public sharing of TDNAM domain sales, along with its corporate information, executive bonuses, party photos, and more.

“We learned from Sony and the exposure of its data after North Korean hackers allegedly shared with the world everything about the company,” said GoDaddy executive VP of Social Media management, Samuel Biggs.

“Not only we’re reinstating the domain auction data from TDNAM, but I will be personally calling up every domain blogger to relay the results of every domain auction as it happens – how’s that for transparency?” added Biggs.

GoDaddy received lots of heat in a Domain Name Wire thread revealing that the results of TDNAM auctions were being held back, due to sellers requesting the privacy of their assets’ sales.

“Domain sellers should not expect any privileges of privacy – such audacity is unheard of – as we live in an era where everything about everyone is known by everyone else,” said Samuel Biggs, adding:

“If you don’t volunteer the size of your wife’s bra these days, someone will soon post a copy of her invoice from Frederick’s of Hollywood, so why not tell everyone in the first place?”

Transparency in the domain industry will be the number one issue to discuss during the upcoming NamesCon domain conference, and GoDaddy executives will be there to share information about the company, and to provide stool samples to anyone who needs this type of information.

Can they also release exactly how many names have been stolen from them and how many were from overseas that couldn’t use the two step verification option ?
