Uniregistry: BestCoin, WebCoin or GoldCoin? Take your trademark pick!

Uniregistry.

Uniregistry has invested in its own cryptocurrency.

Since 2014, Uniregistry has been offering the use of Topcoin as alternate payment method; there is a 2/1 exchange rate to the dollar, for domain registrations, renewals and transfers.

Topcoin is yet another cryptocurrency, launched after the success of Bitcoin, and it’s not the only one.

According to the Topcoin website, Uniregistry is one of three founding domain registries that use Topcoin; the other two are Rightside and Build.

After some research, we found something quite interesting: Uniregistry has applied for its own trademark for several different “coins.”

The trademark application list at the USPTO includes:

  • BestCoin
  • WebCoin
  • GoldCoin
  • CashCoin
  • WorldCoin
  • FastCoin
  • GoodCoin
  • MoneyCoin

That’s a lot of different coins, right there, and the numeerous applications should keep Uniregistry lawyer, John Berryhill, busy.

DomainerCoin, anyone? 😀
