Update: YN.com no longer a stolen domain; was returned to FMA

Time to change your passwords.

Thieves can steal your account passwords and domains.

The premium two letter .com domain, YN.com, has been returned to its legitimate owner, Future Media Architects.

As part of a cache of domains stolen at Moniker during a much-reported mass breach of accounts, YN.com was frozen at Name.com where it was transferred by Egyptian domain thieves.

Currently, the process of reclaiming one’s stolen domains is a bureaucratic process that depends on the willingness of the losing registrar to pursue the return, and that of the gaining registrar to acknowledge the domain theft.

This status quo creates domain registrars that are willing to assist with domain theft reversals, and others that fall way behind in assisting the legitimate owners to get back their domains in an expedient manner.

If your domain was stolen, here’s a quick guide on how to seek media coverage from our regular posts related to domain theft.
