Vietnamese registrar Mat Bao slapped with 2nd breach warning

Mat Bao - Gangnam style.

Mat Bao – No lookie at my registrar bookie.

What has two wings and a halo? A Vietnamese phone. (“Wing, wing”. “Halo?”) 😀

Right before Christmas, Vietnam-based ICANN accredited registrar, Mat Bao, was sent a breach notice.

It seems that they have not been paying ICANN its dues for most of 2012.

As of yesterday, Mat Bao – that is proud of its company culture – was slapped with a second breach notice, unrelated to the first one.

Apparently, Mat Bao isn’t responsive to ICANN’s contractual compliance audit program; in other words they seem to hide what they do from the eyes of ICANN.

Says the breach notice:

  1. Failure to provide documents and information as required by the terms of Section 3.14; and
  2. Failure to maintain records relating to Mat Bao’s dealings with Registry Operator(s) and Registered Name Holders and to make such records available to ICANN for inspection, pursuant to Sections 3.4.2 and 3.4.3 of the RAA.

Mat Bao now has until February 1st to comply with the procedures outlined by ICANN, or risk termination as an ICANN-accredited registrar.
