Zumba sex scandal next? UDRP delivers domains to trademark owners

You’ve probably witnessed the uproar from the so-called “Zumba sex” scandal, where a young, fitness instructor – Alexis Wright from Kennebunk in Maine – offered more than just Zumba classes to her aged clientele.

While people are still searching for “kikicu pictures” and “kikicu videos“, aiming to locate scandalous naked pictures of Alexis Wright, we pointed out early on that “Zumba” is a registered trademark.

As such, a domain name predating the Alexis Wright scandal – ZumbaSex.com – should be getting hit with a UDRP soon.

The truth is, that the fitness classes company filed and won the UDRPs, for a pair of different domains recently.

In a case decided at the National Arbitration Forum, Zumba corporation filed a dispute against the domain names ZumbaClasses.com and TheZumbaDVD.com; both cases were decided on behalf of the Complainant. Due to the obvious nature of trademark infringement, it was only natural that the Respondents failed to respond and both domains are to be handed over to Zumba corporation.

Meanwhile, the Kikicu / Alexis Wright / Zumba sex scandal will continue to pique our interest for weeks to come.
