Going Against the Grain of Domaining
In every industry, to stand out from the rest of the crowd, one has to offer something unique, unusual, dissimilar. It’s fine and dandy if all one wants is to go with the flow, to be a follower, to lead a predicted life.
At DomainGang, we go against the grain.
Two months ago, we started with a handful of articles and little more than faith in ourselves – because we’ve done it before, to walk in unpredictable paths – and started this online publication dedicated to the domaining industry. An industry so young, that “domainer” and “domaining” appear as typographical errors in every word processor, including the WordPress editor.
In just two months we’re averaging 73,615 in Alexa ratings worldwide. We’ve captured a niche market that was there – only no one else saw us coming. Our daily traffic, posts and comments have increased at unprecedented rates, due to a simple fact:
We went against the grain.
Instead of serving you daily regurgitated news, we provide you with entertainment, fun, education through brain stimulation. We offer you the opportunity to step aside from the stern image of domaining and see it all from a different angle; from a reverse, non-Euclidean geometry. We challenge the authority of those who somehow believed it is wise to “keep quiet”.
Going against the grain is the only way to succeed.

… and of course, you can always use the grain to make beer, after you’ve gone against it.
Splendid idea, Jeff. Beer, the ancient drink devised by several ancient cultures – now in a bottle with the DG logo on it
keep going against the grain DG!
you want to go against the grain just wait for my next post:)
Bruce – you’re the echo of logic & sanity in this madness called domain industry. Keep it up, buddy.
“education through brain stimulation”
“a reverse, non-Euclidean geometry”
non-Euclidean?
Brain stimulation?
That’s causing me brain damage!
Please.
I hope there isn’t going to be a quiz later on.
I think I’ll come down with swine flu that day.
There will be a test tomorrow but with open books
Time for an all-nighter, Patrick!
“There will be a test tomorrow…”
Unfortunately, open book test or not, the doctor just confirmed I have
swine flu so I will have to miss the test.
If you need a note from the doctor he said he will give me one for $35.00.
Don’t be a wuss now, Patrick. Go against the grain!
