Iraq launches the national TLD in Arabic: .jihad
Following on the footsteps of Egypt and their new TLD, “.masr”, Iraqi officials made a major announcement earlier today.
It’d be a true delight in the days of George W. Bush and Dick Cheney; the Iraqi “Registry for Domains and WMD” has issued its national TLD in Arabic.
The much-coveted IDN TLD translates from Arabic script as “.jihad”
Iraq won the race against Iran, as it has the technological infrastructure, provided for with American tax-payer money.
It’s not clear what national TLD will be used by Iran, now that the main keyword is taken.
Haha. Better watch out. If they see this, you might be there next target!
Now we know where the money came for this extension to be used.
Of course, it came from American tax-payer money to reconstruct Iraq, which now boasts superfast Internet access with the latest fiberoptic technology.
