Currently, WHOIS information appears to be that of a Brazilian law firm, Guerra Law. We can safely now say that not all Brazilian domain buyers are ‘lowballers’ like the guy [...]

US President, Barack Obama, turned down an appeal by Márcio Mello of SaveMe.com fame, to receive a presidential pardon. Just days before the US elections, Mr. Obama handed out pardons to convicted individuals in various categories. For the “reverse domain hijacker” category, the applicant was denied, as seen in this photo below.

These days, anything related to Brazil brings back memories of the Brazilian brothers behind SaveMe.com.br and their pending UDRP at the WIPO to wrestle SaveMe.com away from Rick Schwartz. While we’re awaiting the proceedings with intensive interest, news of an improved Internet infrastructure in Brazil indicate the country is trying to improve its image and [...]

It’s a domainer’s worst nightmare: a rich, handsome, aggressive lawyer from Brazil, has filed a UDRP at the WIPO claiming use in bad faith of a generic dot com domain. Marcello Shavez, known as “Barata” or “Cockroach” in the courts of Rio De Janeiro, started an online barber business two years ago to supplement his [...]

As you may already know, Rick Schwartz – the Domain King – is being under attack recently from the forces of Evil. The results are in for our poll about what should Rick Schwartz do with the domain name, SaveMe.com – since it was challenged via UDRP by the Brazilian lawyer, Márcio Mello Chaves, who filed the case on behalf of the SaveMe.com.br company. Out of 100 voters, only 8 believe that a fair use would be [...]

Domaining.com – the long term project of French domainer entrepreneur, Francois Carrillo – offers the opportunity to purchase “eyeballs” with sponsored headlines. It’s an effective form of promoting one’s blog or business. Domain king, Rick Schwartz, is currently using the sponsored headline feature, to raise awareness to the recent incident of blatant reverse domain hijacking [...]

Rick Schwartz unleashed a salvo of pure lava yesterday, after a UDRP for his domain name SaveMe.com was initiated at the WIPO. Rick’s hand-registration from 1996 somehow became the business name of a Brazilian corporation that aggregates daily deals from Groupon and other money-savings web sites. Not only does the Brazilian company, SaveMe.com.br not have [...]
