If your name is Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab chances are that you won't be cybersquatted upon.

A Nigerian man who attempted to detonate an explosive device aboard a Delta Airlines plane en route to Detroit, has done plenty of damage already to domain speculators.

The suspect, identified by a U.S. government official as 23-year-old Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab possesses such an impossible name that domainers have given up attempting to pronounce it – let alone register it.

Usually stories that make the central page of CNN become hot commodities among domainers who register the relevant dot com’s; in the case of Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab no such domain registration is likely to take place.

“This guy has a tongue twister for a name, I mean – can you imagine the different variations and typos that should be registered to monetize any traffic”, exclaimed Pete Thouspen from New York who usually registers domains of semi-famous people he reads about in the news. “I was able to register the names of seven Saudi terrorists from 9-11 but this guy is a no-go”, he added.

There are concerns among TSA officials that terrorists with shorter names will begin to attempt acts of terror against US targets. If this becomes a trend, domainers will once again rush to register these domain names in order to monetize the horror and destruction caused by these individuals.
