PerezHilton.com received an intent to buy note for $20 big ones.

Could this be the kind of news we need in order to stimulate the ‘bad economy’ ?

Apparently, a letter of intent has been presented to the owner of the celebrity gossip web site, PerezHilton.com

According to Gawker:

The purchasing parties – Avid Life Media, the owner of sites including HotorNot.com and Ashley Madison, has partnered with two prominent gossip bloggers to put in a $20 million bid to acquire PerezHilton.com.

This offer, if it follows through, would make the sale of PerezHilton.com the biggest ever for a domain name & assorted content, forcing the owners of Sex.com into instant depression.

The traffic index of PerezHilton.com is 574 according to Alexa.

This is an insanely large amount of daily traffic for a web site that is simply a canvas for posting celebrity rumors and ridiculing celebrity pictures by drawing fake semen stains on their faces.

Some people breed like cats and it's not nearly as cute.

Her sudden shooting to fame caused several things to happen: a reality TV show, the scorn of millions of responsible mothers and two trademark applications with suspended status at the USPTO.

The beauty of the domain registration system commands that whoever registers it first, keeps it – until there is a lawful challenge. The domain name Octomom.com was registered years ago – in 2001 – by some mother who apparently coined the term as a reference to busy mothers, needing “8 arms” to get things done at home – just like an octopus.

“Octo” is number eight in Greek, in case you wondered.

Nowadays, it seems that PETA campaigns generate a lot of both negative and positive publicity over their approach to animal rights; the recent incident which had PETA fighting against Southern California meat company Bullwhip over ownership of the domain name Sex.com is one such fine example.

Apparently, PETA and Octomom are collaborating on a campaign that will ensure Nadya Suleman or “Octomom” receives food and an undisclosed amount of cash for her family of 14 young kids.

The campaign, in the form of a large sign placed in the yard of her La Habra, California, home, would read:

“Don’t let your dog or cat become an ‘Octomom.’ Always spay or neuter.” The ad features a litter of kittens nursing with their mother.

Still pondering over this “creative genius” – should we throw up now, or later?

“Octomom” Nadya Suleman and PETA – the so-called People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals – are about to bring an onslaught of fresh Internet traffic to Octomom.com and its owner, who proclaims the rights to using the “Octomom” name. It’s unfortunate that the Octomom.com owner has to place a disclaimer of bearing no relationship to Nadya Suleman instead of monetizing the living daylights out of this juicy domain keyword.

Play it safe kids, use protection, or you might end up like Nadya “Octomom” Suleman.

It's meat against meat in the fight for the domain Sex.com

BullWhip, a meat company from Southern California is in the fighting ring against PETA for the domain Sex.com.

BullWhip Executive Vice President, Dick James, has sent out this press release to the media, stating:

“Meat is good for all. There is nothing wrong with eating meat and we will develop Sex.com to deliver this message to the world. Our plans are to have celebrities such as Angelina Jolie eating a hot dog or Eliza Dushku with two big slabs of Angus steak on her breasts. Britney Spears and Paris Hilton have also been contacted to fight in a tub of hamburger. We want Sex.com to show the world how meat can enhance your mood, satisfy your gut but overall, we just want the domain to say ‘Fuck You, PETA’.”

When asked what sex had to do with meat, the BullWhip Executive VP responded:

“Hell if I know. But with all the wars resolved, homeless people eating vegetables and our economy now booming we needed a way to grab everyone’s attention. What better way than to buy Sex.com?”

In case you slept during the past two days and didn’t visit Domaining.com for the headlines, Sex.com is heading to foreclosure auction on March 18th.

A foreclosure? Which clearly means that when you are bad with your finances, it doesn’t matter if you possess the most valuable LLL .com in the world. A loser will still be a loser.

Apparently though, Francois of Domaining.com is was having a little competition about the outcome of this surely rigged auction. Guess the winning bid, if it’s the nearest price you win the jackoff! Or jackpot. Or, whatever.

As he states on his web site, in perfect Anglicized French:

You can bid until March 15th, but better you don’t wait because it pays to bid earlier:

In the case of severals winners the prize will be splitted 50/50 between the first bet and the others, same thing for the second.

The jackpot is 50% of collected money, but we guarantee a $1,000 minimum prize. Place a bet only costs $5, or $10 for 3 bets.

So whip out your calculator and figure out how much money you can get and how much will go in the pocket of Francois and you just might win lots of sex!

Here’s some analysis we did for you.

The readership of Domaining.com is about 95% male. If 60% of all males bet, let’s assume that half of these will bet $10 and the other half $5. Assuming a daily readership of about 1,000 domainers, that’s roughly 570 bets, with $1,425 going towards the $5 bet and $2,850 towards the $10 bet.

A total of roughly $4,275 will be divided between Francois and the jack-offs that will be bidding.

In other words: Francois makes a cool $2k from your bets and as much goes to one jack-off winner!

No more references to cusswords in domain names, thanks to an obscure book first published two millennia ago

It could not happen at a worse time; ICANN announced today that it’s amending its Letter of Authorization (LOA) to all Registries, including Verisign and PIR.

The amendment revokes article BC1922/C/1995 that allows for the registration of domains which fall in the “cussword” category. In particular, article 7B of the amendment states:

“Registries are allowed to permit registrations of any textual string, regardless of the ethical or moral references to acts that would be socially unacceptable or even punishable by law, by means of invoking the Freedom of Speech protocol; Geneva 21/200KL, as described in the associated documentation herein.”

This entire paragraph has now been stricken out leaving the determination of which domains can be accepted for registration to the Registries; in essence, this means that each Registry will now decide by majority vote whether to permit domains such as sex.com, porn.com, ass.com and suckmebeautiful.org to remain registered.

In a memo to both Verisign and PIR, ICANN justifies this policy change as an event related to extreme pressure from the Religious Right, a group of conservatives that have been lobbying the ICANN members for such an action against “immoral domain names.”

According to Stephanie McPherson-Peters, executive director of WOWNow International – a freedom of speech watchdog agency – ICANN members could not but succumb to this pressure:

“It is unfortunate that we should forget about freedom of speech and such imaginary claims to democracy; the ICANN members acted upon extreme fear of losing their travel benefits and meal coupons. I think it’s a dark day for the Internet.”

ICANN will begin to reclaim all cussword domains before the end of the year; this should be enough time for their owners to surrender the domains through the respective Registries and receive in exchange a free dinner for two at Domino’s Pizza, along with a hardbound copy of The Holy Bible.

A domainer shocked that he did not register sex.com is suing keyboard manufacturer, Logitech, for $12 million dollars.

Jose-Manuel Rodriguez del Pinto, a janitor at San Hermano Frisbee’s High School and part-time domain investor & minisite developer, filed a lawsuit early Thursday to seek compensation of $10 plus punitive damages of $11,999,990 from Logitech corporation.

Jose-Manuel discovered the .com of his dreams was not what he really registered

“I was surfing the internet, you know, with my cousin Elizabetta and we go to that site, you know, called GoDaddy and we search for domain, Sex.com and it says it’s available. So you know, we go and pay the $10 and we wait for confirmation email, you know, from GoDaddy and we got an email, you know, that said, congratulations Jose-Manuel Rodriguez del Pinto, you are the new registrant of sexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com”

Jose-Manuel alleges that he did not notice that his “X” key was stuck and blames the keyboard manufacturer, Logitech, for this apparent hardware malfunction.

“It was bad for my business, you know, I told my cousin, this is great we get to offer adult pictures on the internet and make money, you know, so we got sex.com but no, it was sexxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com. When I paid GoDaddy I was hoping after going through so many agreements and confirmation pages, you know, and having to decline all their stupid server and whois protection offers – all 15 screens of it all – that we would get sex.com”

Jose-Manuel is hopeful that by winning the case he will be able to invest the $12 million dollars in the Mexican Registry that is currently thriving: anyone can currently register English keywords with a .mx extension, in hopes of tapping the thousands of Spanglish customers.
