What’s going on these days with all the actors and celebrities passing away one after another?
No, it’s not a conspiracy.
First it was Gary Coleman – a funny child actor – then Dennis Hopper lost the fight with prostate cancer.
And now Rue McClanahan, the adorable Blanche of the popular TV show, ‘Golden Girls’ has passed away at the age of 76.
She will be missed for her full of sexual innuendo punch lines through the years of the ‘Golden Girls’ show.
So who owns RueMcClanahan.com and why?
Giant domain portfolio holders, IREIT – that’s who.
With more than 60,000 domains under their control, IREIT owns the full name – not stage name – of the actress Rue McClanahan who just passed away.
IREIT has held the domain name since at least 2007, if not since its original registration date of 2006.
One has to wonder if IREIT believes that it’s ok to register domains of living actors and celebrities, waiting to capitalize on the fond memories of their fans when they do pass away; essentially, that’s cybersquatting with an added pinch of predatory domaining.
