Dharmesh Shah, founder of HubSpot, announced the acquisition of the domain name OS.ai for $150,000 dollars.
The sale took place on Afternic and was leaked earlier today by domain investor Andy Booth, who was not the seller.
Said Mr. Shah:
LEAKED NEWS: I acquired the domain name os .ai for $150,000 (just saw the transaction reported on some online sources). It’s the only two character domain name I own and one of the handful of .ai domains I’ve bought over the years.
I have some ideas on what kind of startup/product would make sense for this, but I have no current plans to build anything (staying super busy with Agent.ai). The concept of an operating system for A.I. is compelling to me.
I have a new agent on Agent.ai that I’m using to estimate the value of domain names. I think it overestimated the value on this one ($700k), but it got the key points/rationale pretty right. Also, the estimated value wasn’t that far from the early asking price.
Hubspot’s founder is known for personally engaging in the acquisition and sale of domain names related to automation and AI.
OS is a popular acronym for “operating system.”
