Bada-Bing! Microsoft leapfrogs Google with $8 billion purchase of Skype

Skype - the $8 billion dollar sale!

It’s the biggest tech acquisition of the decade: former ‘evil corporation’ Microsoft is forking out close to $8 billion dollars in cash and debt payments for Skype.

The audiovisual software that Skype offers to millions of online users, will be a useful sidekick to Microsoft’s Bing search engine.

Integration of Skype has always been appealing to Google and of course Facebook, but the ‘dark empire’ that Bill Gates built managed to get there first.

The agreement is not finalized but it’s almost there, according to the Wall Street Journal coverage.

Considering how Microsoft saved $48 billion by not acquiring Yahoo a couple of years ago, the acquisition of Skype is peanuts 😀

Which is more evil, Google or Microsoft?

Correction—it is not Billy calling the shots anymore, he has his own life now outside Microsoft.

Tell me what you want but there are plenty more devil companies out there that Microsoft in comparison seems to be run by nurses, one of them being Big G and the other one is the fruit company that sells phones full of bugs.

And with this purchase (one of the best a big company could do at the moment) Microsoft seems to roar as in the old times

If code is like poetry then Skype is like a Shakespeare sonnet – easily worth the price guv!
