Chinese domain market report : Final stretch before the Year of the Rooster

Chinese domain sales report.

The Chinese domain market is witnessing its final stretch before the end of 2016.

With poor results throughout most of the year, and disappointing sales volume, the current jump in sales is an anomaly that engages domain investors desperate to sell.

Flipping short domains, between 2 to 4 characters in length, among the Chinese, has led to a stagnation of prices. Eager to make even the smallest profit, many domain portfolios of .CN, .COM and .NET domains are now being liquidated.

The new year, 2017, will also deliver a brand new Chinese zodiac, that of the Rooster. Going from a monkey to cock, the expectations will be quite high. 😀

We keep track of domain transactions in China’s domain market, so here is today’s report, spanning December 6th to December 12th.

The majority of this list comprises of .CN domains – 241 versus 158 .COM.

This ratio indicates that the international market for “Chips” has been saturated.
