Court order : Germans can use a “fake name” on Facebook

Many Facebook users won't be happy with the new updates.

Many Facebook users don’t like the loss of privacy.

Facebook attracts more than a billion people from around the world, and it demands everyone uses their real name.

There are times when using an alias, a pseudonym, or a “fake name” makes more sense.

After all, you never know when your ex will come stalking you on Facebook.

A court order in Germany, is about to change Facebook’s demands to provide identification; the social network can no longer change a user’s chosen username to their real names, or ask for an official ID.

The decision came after a German woman from Hamburg had her account blocked for using a pseudonym, to avoid being contacted through it for business matters.

The court stated that forcing Facebook users to use real names violates their privacy rights.
