DropCatch Quad: Four #domain auctions on July 19, 2022 including ShirtNation.com

Welcome to another edition of DropCatch Quad; a quick and to the point analysis of domain auctions that closed on DropCatch today.

I’ve been following DropCatch auctions for a while, sharing via Twitter some interesting auction results that caught my eye. As much as I can, I follow them to the (bitter) end, not bidding but watching the outcome.

Most such auctions involve domains that inexplicably expired, then dropped, and were acquired by domain investors (primarily) via the DropCatch behemoth platform.

Today’s DropCatch Quad, without further ado:

ShirtNation.com – Great brand for a t-shirt company. Registered in 2005, the domain was let go by RegistryGate GmbH. The auction closed at $788 dollars, or about the cost of 100 cheap, blank t-shirts.

PokerForum.com – One great domain that someone gambled a lot by letting go. It was registered in 2002 originally but OM-IQ Ltd dba Com Laude dropped the ball. It sold for $8,108 dollars. Not a bad day’s winnings for DropCatch.

IeSpell.com – Synergy Wholesale dropped this domain, originally registered in 2002. Apparently, it was a free Internet Explorer browser extension that spell-checked text-input boxes. IE is now dead so the domain sold for a whopping $3,451 dollars.

MrTony.com – Not sure who is “Mr. Tony” but he dropped his domain. Originally registered in 2005 before it dropped at Google Domains. The domain sold for $468 dollars and perhaps Tony Names won it. 🙂

And that’s all for today, see you soon.
