False alarm, as ‘stolen’ domain was in fact a great Afternic sale!

Mo money, with Bodis.

All ended well, for Bob.

Fresh from the “yes!wtf” department, is this funny incident about a panicked domain owner who contacted us earlier today.

Bob, who shall remain otherwise anonymous for the sake of saving him the embarrassment, saw one of his domains change hands without his direct involvement.

We received an email with the details, and it’s quite clear that Bob was devastated by how his day had started. Losing a domain to a thief is by no means an incident that can be taken lightly.

Thinking the worst, Bob soon realized that the supposed theft was in fact a completed sale over at Afternic, for the amount of $5,000 no less.

Whoah!

One cannot make that stuff up, but it seems that life mimics parody more often than you think. 😀

The embarrassment of this was slowly passing! (:

A harsh lesson learned on my part to ensure my email contact details are up to date with auction houses.
