In your face, pandemic!

The world’s small companies are optimistic – no, bullish – about the future, according to a new global study by GoDaddy.

The research shows the pandemic has severely affected their businesses, with 75% reporting a fall-off in revenues. Yet, the findings also reveal a steely resolve by these entrepreneurs to not only survive the economic crisis but thrive.

The GoDaddy Global Entrepreneurship Survey takes a deep look into the pandemic’s effect on the world’s microbusinesses. Of the 5,265 businesses surveyed throughout ten countries, over 90% have ten employees or less, and half are sole proprietors:

Despite the United States being among the hardest hit by the current pandemic, U.S. micro-businesses are among the most resolute. Other than Germany, the United States reported the lowest percentage of businesses that had to close down, even temporarily, and had the lowest level of businesses at 66% reporting a reduction in revenues.

The GoDaddy Global Entrepreneurship Survey was conducted in conjunction with Savanta, a leading global data, research, and advisory firm. For the full report, click here.
