GoDaddy HQ suffer crucial hit by Arizona meteorite

A large meteorite, weighing 800lbs or more, exploded on the ground in Scottsdale, Arizona, yesterday – very close to the GoDaddy headquarters.

Dozens of GoDaddy employees left their cubicles, in an apparent attempt to capture photos of the incident, or as an excuse to have a smoke break.

Chaos ensued.

“We were never in danger, the GoDaddy building is built like a fortress per Bob Parsons’ requirements,” said GoDaddy CEO, Blake Irving.

“The meteorite hit outside of the perimeter, right where the restrooms are and unfortunately our employees will have to use another facility until the latrines are rebuilt by the end of the year,” added Irving.

If you’re currently experiencing delays in receiving message notifications, emails and other information from GoDaddy, it’s because dozens of employees now have to walk 1.5 miles to the nearest building where bathrooms are located, and breaks are thus considerably longer.

Direct hits by meteorites aren’t that rare; in October, a team of ICANN experts was dispatched to Russia and retrieved a large meteorite; arguably, the first paramilitary operation under the command of ICANN CEO, Fadi Chehadé.
