Greek Easter : It’s all about that One Lamb

Greek Easter.

Greeks feast on Easter, after 40 days of meat-fasting, and the menu contains lamb or goat meat.

While not everyone roasts the poor lamb whole on a spit and an open fire, that’s what tradition entails.

There’s lots of side dishes, ranging from a variety of salads, to butter cookies, to red-painted hard-boiled eggs, and of course magiritsa, a lemon and egg soup made with the chopped intestines and liver of the lamb.

Trust me, it’s delicious.

A group of Greeks from New York, where the large community of Astoria features lots of Greek delis, restaurants and other stores, put together a fun video about Greek Easter celebrations.

Billy Anastasiou, aka So Tiri, takes a Drake tune and wraps it with some fun content. Billy is a music producer and entertainer from NYC.

As an added bonus, the video features an intro by Pardalis & Nohavicka – a boutique full service law firm based out of Manhattan and Astoria/Long Island City in New York City.
